Why we’re different

We believe that preserving memories and stories shouldn’t be reserved for the rich and famous.

That’s why we built Remento - to make the capture of your parent’s and grandparent’s stories as easy for them as having a conversation. No writing. No homework.

But it’s not just about their stories.

It’s the sound of their laugh. It’s the sparkle in their smile as they talk. It’s their presence, forever at your fingertips.

From our team at Remento, happy storytelling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Remento?

Remento is a voice-first storytelling solution designed to capture life stories through spoken narratives – no writing required. Its core workflow involves selecting weekly prompts from a curated library (or adding custom questions) and having the storyteller record responses. Remento’s proprietary “Speech-to-Story technology automatically transcribes and lightly rewrites these recordings into coherent written stories (unless the user opts to publish the spoken words verbatim). Family collaborators can then review and edit the text, add photos, and arrange the content into chapters using Remento’s dashboard. When ready, Remento prints a premium hardcover book containing all the stories, each accompanied by a QR code that links to the original recorded audio/video (so readers can scan the code to hear the storyteller’s voice).

What is StoryKeeper?

StoryKeeper is a flexible memory-preservation platform that supports both voice and written storytelling, transforming either type of input into a beautifully printed book. Users can choose between two modes: “Record & Relive” (record stories by voice or video, and let the system write it for you) or “Write It Yourself” (type your stories or use voice-to-text dictation). If stories are recorded, StoryKeeper uses AI transcription and AI-driven narrative shaping. Once the stories and photos are finalized, StoryKeeper prints them in a softcover book.

Are Remento and Storykeeper books similar?

  • Remento: Remento books are hardcover 8” x 10” books, printed on double-thick glossy paper - similar to a high-quality coffee table book.
  • StoryKeeper: Storykeeper books are softcover 5.83″ × 8.27″ books, printed on basic paper.

How many family members can I invite on Remento and StoryKeeper?

  • Remento: Invite unlimited family and friends to pick prompts, record memories, vote on questions, add photos, and edit written stories.
  • StoryKeeper: Invite up to 10 collaborators to your project.

How do Remento and StoryKeeper send prompts to the storyteller?

  • Remento: Prompts are delivered weekly via both email and SMS, making it easy for storytellers to receive reminders however they prefer. The storyteller simply taps a link — no logins, downloads, or passwords required.
  • StoryKeeper: Prompts are sent by email only. Storytellers must access their stories via a website and use an account login to record or type responses.

How are the storytelling prompts written in Remento and StoryKeeper?

  • Remento: Choose from a bank of hundreds of expertly crafted questions, developed by professional storytellers, documentarians, and memory scientists. Remento also offers AI-powered personalization, tailoring future prompts based on the storyteller’s previous answers — making each question feel more relevant and meaningful.
  • StoryKeeper: Access a large pre-written bank of hundreds of questions to guide the storytelling process.

How are photographs used in Remento and StoryKeeper?

  • Remento: Send a loved one a photograph to inspire a new recording, allowing them to tell the story behind the image in their own voice. Photos can also be added to enhance existing stories. Remento also partners with Legacybox to help you digitize old photos, making it seamless to preserve the stories behind physical prints and film.
  • StoryKeeper: Photos can be uploaded and attached to stories, but only after the recording or writing is complete. There's no prompt-based photo storytelling or integration with photo digitization services.
